How to Install and Configure Magento

1. For manual installation of Magento, you need to first download the latest installation package from the official website of Magento.

2. After downloading the installation package, you need to upload it on your hosting account through cPanel  -> File Manager or using an FTP client.

If you want the installation to be elementary for your domain, you need to extract the content of the installation package in the public_html folder. On the contrary, if you want it to be in a sub-folder, like http://yoursite.com/store/, you are required to extract the content to public_html/store/.

Once you are done with the uploading process, you can extract the package through your cPanel -> File Manager.

3. Now, you need to create a MySQL database and assign a user to it by means of cPanel -> MySQL Databases. Do not forget the database details, as it will be required at the time of script installation.

4. Go ahead with the installation process of Magento.

Here, we will be going to install the Magento in the public_html/store folder. When the package is uploaded and extracted and you acquire a MySQL database, navigate it to http://yoursite.com/store
